Land Management Services

Tidal Influence manages 170 acres of coastal habitat for the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority. Our land management team actively coordinates with their oil lessees, manages numerous easements, coordinates with agency, drafts permits, developments new restoration projects, pursues funding opportunities, provides public access programming, manages facilities, performs ecological studies, and makes property improvements focused on ensuring protection of sensitive habitat areas.

Tidal Influence conducts regular property patrols of the LCWA complex and compiles monthly management reports. We inspect all sites and facilities for non-beneficial use concerns including: homeless encampments, fence line breaks, trespassing on walking trails and vandalism. We maintain roadway safety and access by managing invasive weed populations and clearing debris. We communicate with Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewardship Program coordinators and property owners to provide access and escorts for volunteer programs operating on site.

We also work with local researchers to continually monitor the wildlife that lives in the sensitive habitat that are owned by the Authority.  We manage and restore populations of 6 different special status plant species and work to protect habitat that serves the endangered Belding's Savannah Sparrow, California Least Tern, and Pacific Green Sea Turtle, as well as the rare salt marsh wandering skipper, s-banded tiger beetle, and burrowing owl.
